Sunset Hearing, December 11, 2002

The Board of Regents presented a review of its constitutional and statutory charges and related activities to the Joint House and Senate Education Committee on December 11 in fulfillment of its responsibilities under Louisiana's "sunset law."  Every six years, every state agency is required to appear before the appropriate legislative committee to show how it has discharged its duties and authorities under the law. The committee must be satisfied that the agency is performing satisfactorily in order for the agency to be reauthorized for another six years.
